As you might imagine, working on MakerPlane takes a lot of time and effort. The development of new avionics and functionality itself, plus paying for web hosting, amazon cloud services for the downloads, maintenance, bug fixing, testing, release preparations, and such alone is already a huge undertaking, and that even leaves out other unrelated tasks like writing documentation, community management, server administration etc.
